Basic Nutrition Provides Strength

As you eat healthy foods containing protein, the food is broken down into amino acids. Amino acids are further used for repairing and building muscle tissues. People who are physically active should consume adequate protein to make sure their body is not deprived and it can recover faster. Every tissue present in the body is composed of protein, which makes it important. In addition, it supports the nervous system and immune system as well.

Nutrition for Energy

The body, just like a car, requires fuel to function. You must supply adequate fuel to the body so that it maintains optimal performance. In case you fail to do so, lack of nutrition will start taking a toll on your system.

Carbohydrates are important for providing energy to the body through fat. In fact, glycogen present in muscles is very important for maintaining energy levels throughout the body. When you consume carbohydrates, the pancreas releases insulin. Insulin is a hormone that stores carbs in the muscles or converts them into fats. Stored carbs are called glycogen. Before working out, having adequate glycogen is a must.

Nutrition and Fats

So does nutrition also include fat? The big question is here.

Yes, fat is also a nutrient, essential for the body. However, the choice of fat is very important.

Fats are vital macronutrients stored in the body as the primary energy reserve. Fats are needed for overall lubrication of the joints, ensure that your muscles are loose and maintain mobility throughout the body. You should choose unsaturated fats and avoid saturated and trans fats.

Vitamins – The Macronutrients

Vitamins, as well as minerals, are essential nutrients for the body that not only helps the body to function properly but also ensures proper chemical reactions. Vitamins are divided into different groups, each of which has specific functions. Vitamins are mainly obtained from foods we eat. However, it may not be enough to sustain day to day living. As such, multivitamin supplements are a good choice.

Water

Our body is 70% water. We need to supply enough water to the body to make sure it stays hydrated. Water is a diet in itself, which also detoxifies the body and cleanses the system.
